Captain Bruno, Brian Anthony Imbrunone, is a Florida native who got caught up in fishing at age three in freshwater lakes, ponds and rivers. He learned from his uncles everything he could about Florida fishing. He traveled often with his family an hour to the beach for shrimping, fishing, surfing, paddle boarding and diving. A natural waterman, he studied the local waters of Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, and Ponce Inlet that separates the two beach towns. He learned what species of fish to target and where to fish. Since a child, he has fished the inlet, docks, and bridges of New Smyrna Beach.
Captain Bruno ran eco tour cruises and a Tiki Barge in New Smyrna Beach. He then traveled Florida to enhance his skills on small vessels, sportfishing boats and up to 130-foot yachts. Then, for two years, he started and ran Islamorada Paddle Adventures in The Florida Keys offering paddleboard, kayak, snorkel, and also eco, sunset, sandbar and party cruises.
His home waters of New Smyrna Beach called him back in 2016 where he started Caught Up Fishing Charters. He captained for other charter companies and then added a vessel to Caught Up Fishing Charters in 2018. Captain Bruno has earned a stellar reputation as a respected angler which resulted in over 200 charters in 2018 alone.
CAPTAIN BRUNO IS A PRO “Learning the backcountry of New Smyrna Beach was and is challenging yet very rewarding. Over decades of fishing these local waters, it has become easier and way more fun to make the day come together to make friends or guests smile. Fishing is my passion and my life and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with others. I love teaching people to fish. Bring friends, the wife, the kids, and grandma, too! Whether guests are a beginner, novice, intermediate, or pro, there is always something new to learn to master fishing. Fish have tails and they swim, keeping us anglers always growing and learning. My main goal is to make sure guests have a fun and memorable fishing trip,” said Captain Bruno.
